Obedience training will develop your dog into a
well behaved member of your family and community. We teach the basic disciplines
of sit, come, heel, down, and other useful day-to-day commands. Bad behaviors, such as jumping up,
and biting are replaced with good
manners. We work with you to tailor special commands
that you may wish to use with your dog. Our approach is gentle, yet firm. We
believe the dogs must trust the handler in order to train well. They must
be praised for good behavior and corrected for wrong. Your dog or puppy
will come to the kennel and stay with us for the duration of the training
process. Once your dog has learned his or her commands well, we ask that
you come and work with us before taking your dog home. When you leave, you
will understand how to continue with the good foundation we have developed
for your companion.
We have worked with numerous breeds such as, Labradors,
Goldens, Chesapeakes, Rottweilers, Shepherds, Spaniels, Jack Russells and
just good old lovable mutts.
Our obedience program usually lasts about 5-6 weeks We
prefer a pup be about 5 to 6 months old before coming to the kennel for
this program.
